Features

Everything your barn runs on.

Here's all of it, by area. When you set up, pick what you'll use, and the rest stays out of the way until you want it.

Planning the day

Tomorrow, planned before evening feed.

  • One schedule

Rides, lessons, vet and farrier visits by day, week or month, in your barn's own list of activities. Done and In Progress come from the clock.

  • Plan Tomorrow Pro and up

One horse at a time, offering only the times that work for the horse, its rider and you. Send the whole day at once. Plan Today handles the morning of.

  • Chores that come with the work

The vibration plate before every ride, ice boots after, the walker on days off: tasks that come back on their own. Set it once and it's there every time.

  • Repeats that fit a barn

Every other day, every 6 weeks, the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Change or cancel just one day, or stop it from here.

  • Running late

Pick 15 minutes, push back the rest of the morning's rides, and tell only the people it affects.

  • Just say it

Type or dictate "Vet for Spirit tomorrow at 3 with Dr. Jones" and the form fills itself in. "The farrier got pushed to 3:30" changes what's booked.

  • Turnout at a glance

Up to 10 color-coded sets with their paddocks, horses and who takes them out, plus your paddock map. Rain? Cancel turnout and tell everyone in one step.

  • Who rides, who teaches

Your riders, owners who ride, outside trainers and clinicians. The times offered skip anyone who's already booked or away.

  • In your own calendar

Your HalterLink schedule shows up in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook, next to everything else.

Horses & care

Every horse's whole story, one tap away.

  • Horse profiles

Important Alerts, Tack & Care, its repeating tasks, notes with photos, the vet and farrier, documents and a searchable history.

  • Care records and reminders

Vaccines, farrier, dental, bodywork and vet visits, with the next one reminded. Weigh-ins with photos side by side.

  • A feed chart staff can trust

AM, Lunch, PM and Night Check in your feeding order, with notes like "Soak 20 min". Print it for the feed room wall.

  • Medication safety

Courses that end on their own, a check for every dose, an alert when one is missed, and a red ! wherever a horse has an alert like "No bute".

  • Documents that warn you

Coggins and health certificates flag 30 days before they expire. You choose who can see each document.

  • Tack & Care

Bit, boots, and what each horse needs before and after training, shown on every ride and on the turnout list.

  • Arrival and departure

What each horse arrived with, with photos. Check it all off when the horse goes home.

  • Away for the summer

Archive a horse and it drops off the daily lists until it's back. Its records and owners stay put.

  • Short videos Plus and up

A 15-second clip on a note or a care record, like how a horse is moving after the vet.

Horse owners

Owners in the loop, on your terms.

  • Their own login Plus and up

Owners see only their own horses, and only the parts you share. They never see other owners, and they join free.

  • "Willa today"

Owners open the app to their horse's day: turnout, rides, the newest note and photo, and the next farrier visit.

  • When they can't ride Pro and up

Owners mark their busy times, even a week away at once, and Plan Tomorrow plans around them.

  • Ride times, confirmed

Owners get their rides already confirmed and tap Got It. Can't make it? They say why and what they'd like instead.

  • Questions, not forms Pro and up

Owners ask in their own words. You answer, or book what they asked for in one tap.

  • Privacy per owner

Share rides and care with everyone, keep tasks and receipts in-house, change it for one owner, or hide a single note.

  • Monthly summaries Plus and up

Share every owner's month in one step. Each gets an alert and a page they can print.

  • Owners who won't use an app

List them anyway, with a phone number, on their horses. Invite them later if they change their mind.

Your team

The whole crew on the same page.

  • Roles & Access

One table for what staff see and change, set once for the barn. Someone different? Give them their own.

  • Tasks with proof

Assign to one person or a few. Ask for a note or a photo when it's done, and see who did it.

  • Reports from the aisle

Lost shoe, a cut, colic signs: report it with a photo. "Needs someone now" reaches you even in quiet hours.

  • Schedules, time off, covering

Who works which days, time off requests, and who covers whose horses on a day off, all in Staffing.

  • Night check

A calendar of who's on, a reminder that evening, tonight's briefing on one screen, and "All good" when it's done.

  • Chats with you in the loop Plus and up

Horse chats, team groups and direct messages, with photos. Every chat a groom or owner starts includes you.

  • Alerts with quiet hours

On phones and in web browsers. Each person picks what they hear about, sets quiet hours and mutes horses that aren't theirs.

  • Shopping list

What the barn and each horse need, how often and where to buy it. Purchases for a horse go on its monthly summary.

  • Quick Add

One button for a ride, a note with a photo, a feed change, a document or a reminder.

Adding people to your team needs a plan with team spots, Plus and up. See plans

Farrier, vet & more Pro and up

Your farrier doesn't need the app.

Text one link for their whole day at your barn. No login, no download. It works for the vet, dentist, bodywork, a saddle fitter or anyone else you book.

  • A day sheet

Their horses for the day in stall order, with Important Alerts and when they last came. Never owners, phones, addresses or other visits' notes.

  • Confirm or another time

They confirm, say they're running late, pick another time or say they can't make it. You move the visit in one tap.

  • Notes straight to records

Their note and photo for each horse becomes its care record, with their name on it.

  • Tomorrow's Visits

Everyone coming tomorrow, a Text button for each, and Sent turning into Confirmed as they answer.

Shows Pro and up

Show days, kept apart from home.

  • Show management

Classes, rings, riders and grooms for each show, by day, with each horse's own show schedule.

  • A ring running late

Push back its classes in one step. Riders, grooms and owners are told, and see the new times on Home.

  • Packing lists and entries

Start every show from your templates; each horse's gear joins when it does. Entry checklists, with Coggins checked for the trip.

  • Horses away at shows

Off the home feed chart and turnout while they're gone, and their home schedule cleared when you say so.

  • Time zones handled

At a show across the country? It runs on its own clock, and home stays on the barn's.

  • Night check at the show

One person every night, or the show team takes turns, with a reminder for whoever's on.

Month-end

Bill in minutes, not an evening.

HalterLink isn't billing software. It tells you what each horse got, so billing in your own software is quick.

  • Monthly summary Plus and up

Every ride, lesson, visit, medication and purchase per horse, with dates. Check each horse off as you go.

  • Catch double entries

A farrier visit logged twice gets asked about, so owners are billed once.

  • Spreadsheet in, spreadsheet out

Bring your horses, owners, feed and contacts in from a spreadsheet, and download the month for your billing.

  • Search everything

Horses, people, pages and settings, care, feed and help. "Bute" finds every horse on it.

Everywhere

In the aisle, the office or the back paddock.

  • iPhone, Android and web

One account everywhere. On a computer, a menu down the side and room to plan the week.

  • Works with no signal

Pages you've opened show what was last saved. Reports and notes send once you're back in range.

  • Five languages

English, Spanish, Dutch, German and French. Notes and messages show in each reader's language, with the original a tap away.

  • All your barns

Ride or groom for two trainers? See your own day at every barn, with clashes in red.

  • Private by design

Each barn is walled off from every other. Our support team only sees your barn when you share it, and never your messages.

  • Help when you need it

Help articles for every role, a guided tour, and a real person to write to from the app.

Who it's for

One barn. Everyone on the same page.

From a trainer on their own to a show barn with a full staff. Each person opens the app to what matters to them.

  • Trainers

    Program owners and head trainers

See the whole program. Plan tomorrow, answer owners' questions, hear what the team adds, and know the day is covered before you leave the barn.

  • Barn managers

The person keeping it all running

Run the schedule, the feed chart and the team's tasks. Answer questions and handle the running-late mornings.

  • Grooms & staff

    Grooms, riders, working students

Open the app to today's list, only for the horses they work with. One tap marks a task done, and a report with a photo goes straight to the trainer.

  • Horse owners

    Owners and clients

Follow their horse's day, care and feed. See ride times, ask questions and message the team.

Only the barn or trainer pays. Horse owners join free and never count toward your plan.

Getting started

Set up in a few minutes.

A guided setup walks you through it. Skip anything and come back later.

  1. 1

    Create your program

Name, discipline and time zone. Pick what you'll use HalterLink for, and everything else stays out of the way.

  2. 2

    Add your horses

A name is enough to start, or bring them in from a spreadsheet. Photos, feed and care records can come later.

  3. 3

    Invite your people

Send each person a personal invite by text or email from your own phone. They arrive with the right access already set.

Questions

A few more answers.

More on the home page. Something else? Send us a message.

Do I have to use all of this?

No. When you set up, pick what you'll use HalterLink for: scheduling, horse records, tasks, feed, your team, owners, shows. Everything else stays hidden until you turn it on in Account & Program.

Does it work in Spanish?

Yes. HalterLink works in English, Spanish, Dutch, German and French, and each person picks their own. Notes and messages show in the reader's language, so a groom who reads Spanish and an owner who reads English can follow the same horse.

Does it work at horse shows?

Yes. On Pro and Max, each show gets its own classes, rings, riders, grooms, packing list and tasks, separate from the home barn's day. When a class time changes, the rider, groom and owner are told.

Can I take a break for the winter?

Yes. Instead of cancelling, freeze your barn in Plans & Billing. Billing stops and everything is kept, read-only, for up to 12 months. Unfreeze it and you pick up where you left off.

Do I get anything for telling another barn?

Yes: give a month, get a month. Find your code in the app under More, then Refer a Barn, and share it. A barn that signs up with it gets its first paid month free, and you get a month free once it starts paying, up to 12 free months a year. How referrals work.

Can I bring my records over?

Yes. On a computer, download our spreadsheet template, fill in your horses, owners, feed, contacts, reminders and routines, and upload it. HalterLink shows what it will add before anything is saved. On the Custom Unlimited plan, we'll do it with you.

Can HalterLink see my barn's information?

Not unless you share it. If you need help, you can let our support team see your horses, schedule and tasks for 7 days and fix what you ask. Every look and every change is logged, and messages are never visible to us.

Less time keeping track.
More time with the horses.
