Terms of Service
Last updated October 6, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and HalterLink (“we”, “us”) for using the HalterLink app and website. By creating an account or using HalterLink, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
1. Your account
- You need to be at least 13 to create an account. A parent or guardian can use HalterLink on a young rider's behalf.
- Give accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- If you use HalterLink for a business or barn, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
2. Programs and the people in them
A program is a barn, training business or team in HalterLink. Its trainer controls it: who joins, each person's role, which horses staff work with, and what horse owners can see. Trainers can remove people and delete the program.
When you join a program, the people in it can see what you add there, according to their roles. When you add information about other people, like an owner's name or a vet's phone number, make sure you're allowed to share it.
3. Your content
You own what you put into HalterLink: your horses' records, photos, documents, notes and messages. You give us permission to store, copy, process and show that content only as needed to run HalterLink for you and the people you share it with. You're responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.
4. Using HalterLink fairly
Please don't:
- break the law, or upload anything you don't have the right to share;
- harass, threaten or mislead other people;
- try to see programs or information you weren't given access to, or test, probe or get around HalterLink's security;
- use bots or scripts to copy data from HalterLink, overload it, or interfere with it;
- resell HalterLink, or copy it to build a competing product.
5. Plans, trials and payment
- The program pays. Staff and horse owners never pay to use HalterLink.
- Plans, prices and limits are shown on our pricing page and in the app under Plans & Billing. The Free plan costs nothing.
- New programs get a free trial of the Pro plan. No card is needed for the trial. When it ends, the program moves to the plan it's on.
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and renew until cancelled. You can cancel anytime, and the plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund partial months, unless the law requires it.
- If a program moves to a smaller plan and is over that plan's limits, nothing is deleted, but it can't add more until it's back under the limit or upgrades.
- We may change prices. We'll tell paying programs at least 30 days before a price change affects them.
6. Horse care is your responsibility
HalterLink helps you keep records and stay organized. It isn't veterinary, medical, nutrition or legal advice, and it doesn't replace your vet, farrier or other professionals. Feed plans, medications, reminders and care records are entered by people in your program, so check anything important with the right professional.
Alerts and reminders can be late or fail to arrive, for example when a phone is offline or has notifications off. Don't rely on HalterLink alone for anything urgent or for a horse's health or safety.
7. HalterLink support
If a program's trainer turns on support access, our support team can see that program's horses, schedule and tasks for the time allowed, to help with a problem. Our staff never see chat messages.
8. Changes to HalterLink
We're always improving HalterLink, so features may change, be added or be removed. We'll give reasonable notice before removing something important that paying programs rely on. HalterLink may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using HalterLink at any time, leave a program, or delete your account in the app. We may suspend or close accounts or programs that break these terms or put other people or HalterLink at risk. Where it's reasonable, we'll warn you first.
10. Disclaimers
HalterLink is provided “as is” and “as available.” As far as the law allows, we don't promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or right for every purpose.
11. Limit on our liability
As far as the law allows, HalterLink isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data, or harm resulting from missed or late alerts. Our total liability for any claim about HalterLink is limited to the greater of what your program paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using HalterLink after that, the new terms apply.
13. Contact us
Questions about these terms: use our contact form, or Help & Support → Contact Support in the app.
